How to use Ampare

A guide for the family and for caregivers: how to get started, invite the people who help, organize medicines and the schedule, activate Ampare SOS and understand the plans.

Getting started

What Ampare is, who does what and how to get started.

What is Ampare

Ampare brings a family member's care together in one place: medicines and dose times, appointments, daily routines, documents and the conversation among the people who provide care.

Several family members and caregivers follow the same person, each with their own account. What one person records, the others see right away. When the caregiver on duty mentions something in the conversation that belongs in the care history, such as a dose given or a fall, Ampare suggests the record and only saves it after they confirm.

Note

Ampare organizes and sends reminders. It does not diagnose, does not recommend treatment and does not replace a doctor, nor does it replace emergency medical services or public emergency lines.

Who's who in Ampare

Four roles explain almost everything: who creates the account, who receives care, who is providing care right now and who follows along.

1. Account holder

This is the person who downloads Ampare, creates the account and adds the person being cared for. Only the account holder invites the others, sets each person's role and chooses the plan. They also start as Primary care lead, a role an invitation can give to someone else too.

2. Person being cared for

This is the person who receives care: a mother, a father, a grandmother, someone in long-term treatment. They do not need to handle a phone. If they want, they can have their own access to Ampare, with a simpler screen: their day, the conversation with the family and SOS. Their phone can also have Ampare SOS, with the emergency button.

3. Caregiver on duty

This is the person providing care right now. They get the medicine and task reminders, and what they write in the conversation can become a record in the care history, always with their confirmation. It can be the account holder, another family member or a hired caregiver, and the shift passes from one person to another.

4. Family and professionals

These are the people you invite: siblings, grandchildren, the hired caregiver, the nurse. Each one joins with their own account and follows the same care, with the role the account holder sets.

Important

Only the account holder pays. Invited family members and professionals use Ampare at no cost. Details in Plans: Free and Essential.

Example

Dona Lúcia is 84, lives alone and takes four medicines. Her daughter Marina downloads Ampare, creates the account and adds her mother: Marina is the account holder and the person in charge. She invites her brother Paulo and the caregiver Rosa, who comes Monday to Friday. On Rosa's days, Rosa is the caregiver on duty: she gets the reminder for each medicine, and what she writes in the conversation can become a record. Dona Lúcia's phone has Ampare SOS, with the red button. Only Marina chooses the plan; Paulo and Rosa join at no cost.

First steps

  1. Download Ampare from the App Store or Google Play and tap Create an account. You can sign in with Google, with Apple (on iPhone) or with Outlook, or create the account with an email and password.
  2. If you use email and password, confirm your email with the 6-digit code sent to your inbox. It is only valid for a short time.
  3. Accept the terms and fill in your profile: name, date of birth and an emergency mobile number.
  4. On the Who is going to be cared for? screen, tap I will care for someone in my family, give the family a name and add the person being cared for: their name, the name used in Ampare and their date of birth.
  5. Choose who cares for them day to day: Myself or Someone else. If you choose someone else, Ampare sends the invitation to that person's email.
  6. Invite the people who help and, if the person being cared for will use the emergency button, activate Ampare SOS on their phone. See Invitations, roles and permissions and Activate Ampare SOS.

Important

Automatic reading of the conversation needs your permission for AI, which is off by default. Turn it on when you fill in your profile or later, in Settings › Privacy and data › AI and location.

The invitation only appears for someone who signs in with the same email it was sent to, once that email is confirmed. If the person creates the account with a different address, the invitation stays pending.

To care for yourself, choose I will care for myself. Are you a professional with an invitation? On the sign-in screen, tap Sign in as a professional and enter the code.

For caregivers: medications, schedule, tasks and the family chat.

Invitations, roles and permissions

Caring together starts with an invitation. Each person joins with their own account, and their role defines what they see and what they can do.

Invite someone to the family

Bring in the people who help with care. The role chosen in the invitation defines what each person can do.

Where to find it
Settings › Family › Members and permissions
Who can
Only the account holder.

How to do it

  1. Tap Manage access and then Invite a person.
  2. Say who the person is: Family member, Professional caregiver or Support network.
  3. Choose the role. For a family member, for example: Primary care lead, Provides daily care or Follows and supports. See what each role can do.
  4. Enter the email address and tap Send invitation. The invitation arrives by email, with a link and a code.

Good to know

  • The invitation expires after a few days and can be resent or canceled on the same screen.
  • If sending by email fails, Ampare offers Share invitation and Copy link, so you can send it in a message.

Accept an invitation

Open the link in the email on your phone, choose Create an account to join or I already have an account and tap Accept invitation and join.

Good to know

  • Sign in with the same email address that received the invitation. With a different address, Ampare tells you the invitation was sent to another email.
  • If you already have an account with a confirmed email, the invitation appears on its own in Family invitations right after you sign in.
  • You can also paste the code or the link in Settings › Families › Join with an invitation.

The Support network, such as neighbors and friends, sees only the family chat, with no health data. A professional caregiver records their shift and talks with the family, but does not manage the family. Someone invited with Views through the clinical portal follows the care through the portal, read only.

Who is caring right now

Whoever added the person being cared for starts as the caregiver on duty. When someone else takes over, tap Change on the person's card in the Today tab and choose who takes over; the handover note stays in the family chat. To take over yourself, tap Take over.

Important

Seats on the Free plan: you plus 2 family members, and 1 professional per family. Pending invitations take up a seat; if one is declined or expires, the seat opens up again. On Essential, there is no limit.

The family chat

The chat opens from the middle button on the bottom bar, Communication. There the family exchanges text, audio, photos, video and PDFs, and it is through the chat that the day's care becomes a record.

  • Audio: tap or hold the microphone to record; slide left to cancel. Ampare turns the audio into text for anyone who prefers to read.
  • Attachments: a photo from the gallery, a video or a PDF document, one at a time.
  • Urgent alert: when everyone needs to see it right away, use Send to everyone.
  • Fix or delete: press and hold the message. You can edit it shortly after sending and, for longer, delete it for everyone.

When the chat becomes a record

When the caregiver on duty writes, for example, that they gave the blood pressure medication at 8 a.m., Ampare prepares the record. It appears under Pending, at the top of the chat, and only goes into the history once it is confirmed.

  1. Tap Review to open Review the details.
  2. If something is wrong, tap Edit and correct it.
  3. Tap Confirm record, or Discard if it does not apply.

Important

Automatic reading depends on your permission for AI, which comes turned off. Turn it on when you create your account or in Settings › Privacy and data › AI and location. Without it, the chat works, but nothing is suggested.

Ampare reads only the messages from the caregiver on duty, and the caregiver on duty is the one who confirms. A suggestion expires if no one confirms it. On the Free plan, automatic records are limited; see Plans.

To talk only with the person being cared for, when they have their own access to Ampare, use "Talk to" followed by their name, in the Cared ones tab.

Medications, doses and stock

Each medication with its dose, times and who gave it. The reminder goes to whoever is caring for the person right now.

Add a medication

Tap Enter medication manually and fill in the name. Strength and active ingredient are optional.

Where to find it
Cared ones › Medications
Who can
The account holder and anyone who joined as Primary care lead or Provides daily care.

How to do it

  1. In Add dose and times, choose the dose: one quarter, one half, one, one and a half, two or another amount.
  2. Choose the unit, such as tablet, drop or ml, and the times.
  3. Say when to take it: every day, every other day, every few days, on certain days of the week or only as needed.
  4. Tap Save medication.

Good to know

  • A medication taken only as needed has no reminder at a set time.
  • There is no end date when you add it. To stop, use End this schedule or End or delete medication.

Record the dose

At the scheduled time, the medication appears under Now, in the Today tab, and also in the Schedule.

Where to find it
Today › Now
Who can
The account holder, family members and anyone who joined as Cares and records at work. The Support network and those who only view through the clinical portal do not record doses.

How to do it

  1. Tap the care item for that time.
  2. Choose Done now, or Was it done at another time? to say when it happened.
  3. If it could not be given, tap Could not be done and say why.

Good to know

  • You can still record it after the scheduled time, for a while.
  • You can also mention it in the chat: Ampare prepares the Confirm dose card.

Medication reminders

Reminders start shortly before the scheduled time and stop once someone records the dose.

If the dose is not recorded

  1. Shortly before

The caregiver on duty gets a reminder, and so does the person being cared for, if they have their own access. If no one is on duty, this reminder does not go to the family.

  2. At the scheduled time

The reminder goes to the caregiver on duty; if no one is on duty, it goes to all caregivers. If the person being cared for has their own access, their phone rings as an alarm.

  3. Later, not recorded

Ampare calls on the caregiver on duty in the family chat; if no one is on duty, it calls on all caregivers.

  4. If it is still not recorded

The whole family gets an alert.

Good to know

  • If the profile of the person being cared for has Medication with strict timing, the alerts for an unrecorded dose come sooner.
  • The reminder at medication time rings at any hour, even overnight. For caregivers, the one shortly before stays silent at night; on the phone of the person being cared for, it rings at any hour.

Track the stock

Essential plan

On the medication, tap Restock and enter the quantity. Ampare deducts each recorded dose, including fractions.

Where to find it
Cared ones › Medications

Good to know

  • The alert arrives when the stock is running low. For a medication taken only as needed, only at the last dose.

Read the prescription from a photo

Essential plan

Ampare reads the photo of the prescription and suggests medications, doses and times. Nothing is added before you review it.

Where to find it
Cared ones › Medications › Read prescription from photo

How to do it

  1. Say whose prescription it is.
  2. Tap Take photo or Choose from gallery and adjust the framing.
  3. Wait for the reading and tap Review and confirm suggestions.
  4. If the person already takes other medications, say whether the prescription replaces them or only adds to them. The decision is made medication by medication.

Good to know

  • A handwritten or hard-to-read prescription may not be read. In that case, add the medications manually.
  • The photo also goes to the family chat, and the reading depends on your permission for AI.

Schedule, tasks and routines

The Schedule tab shows the day of each person being cared for, from early morning to night: medications, routines, tasks, appointments and therapy sessions.

In Add, choose what goes on the schedule:

  • Task: what needs to be done, with date, time, person responsible and repetition.
  • Routine: recurring care, such as repositioning in bed, feeding, diaper changes or hygiene. Water and the menu have their own screens: Hydration and Meals.
  • Appointment or exam: type, title and place.
  • Therapy: physiotherapy, speech therapy, psychology and other sessions, which can repeat every week.
  • Coverage: a shift, with the caregiver, the start and the end.

Tap an item to record the care. An appointment has a reminder the day before for the family and shortly before for the caregiver on duty; afterwards, Ampare asks whether it took place as scheduled.

Recurring therapy

Add the therapy once and the sessions go on the schedule every week. Each one appears as Therapy: Physiotherapy, for example.

Where to find it
Schedule › Add › Therapy
Who can
The account holder and anyone who joined as Primary care lead or Provides daily care.

How to do it

  1. Under Therapy type, choose the therapy. With Other, type its name.
  2. Enter the professional and the location.
  3. Choose the date of the first session, the time and the Duration in minutes.
  4. Under Repeat on days, select the days of the week. With no day selected, the therapy does not repeat.
  5. Under Until when, choose No end date or Set end date.
  6. Under Payment method, choose Private, Insurance or Public health service. With Private, you can enter the Price per session (R$).
  7. Tap Schedule.

Good to know

  • To change or delete, open the session on the schedule and tap Edit session or Delete session. If it is part of a series, Ampare asks: Only this one or This and following.
  • Each session has the same reminders as an appointment.
  • Only family members see the payment method and the price, in the session details. The professional caregiver, the clinical portal, the access for the person being cared for and the phone calendar do not show them.

The schedule in your phone's calendar

Essential plan

Appointments, therapy sessions and routines appear in Google Calendar, Outlook or the iPhone calendar.

Where to find it
Settings › Family › Care organization

How to do it

  1. Tap Create schedule link.
  2. Tap Open in calendar, or Copy link and paste it into your calendar.

Good to know

  • The link is private and read-only. Keep it: it is not shown again.
  • Medications are not sent to the external calendar.
  • You can connect more than one calendar.

Water and meals

Two screens of their own in Cared ones, under Organize care: the day's water goal, with the cups drunk, and the meals, with the daily menu.

Hydration

Set a daily water goal and record the cups through the day. The screen shows how much has been drunk, today's records and the previous days.

Where to find it
Cared ones › Hydration
Who can
Anyone who records doses can also record cups. The account holder and anyone who joined as Primary care lead or Provides daily care set the goal and the reminders.

How to do it

  1. Tap Set water goal and pick the goal from the options or Other amount.
  2. To get reminders, turn on Remind to drink water and choose the Reminder interval, the Window start and the Window end.
  3. Under Cup sizes in ml, select the cups used at home and tap Save.
  4. For each cup, tap the size that was drunk or Other volume.

Good to know

  • Agree on the goal with the doctor or care team. Ampare does not suggest a goal.
  • Reminders go to the caregiver on duty and to the person being cared for, if they have their own access with alerts on, not to the whole family. They stop once the day's goal is reached.
  • Recorded by mistake? Tap Undo, which stays available for a while after the record. Each person can undo their own record, and whoever sets the goal can undo any of them.
  • In the access for the person being cared for, the Water card shows the progress and lets them record and undo cups.

Meals and the daily menu

Set up the menu once and mark, at each meal, what the person being cared for ate. There are six periods: Breakfast, Morning snack, Lunch, Afternoon snack, Dinner and Late snack. Once at least one food item is marked, the period shows Meal eaten.

Where to find it
Cared ones › Meals
Who can
Anyone who records doses can also mark meals, and the account holder and anyone who joined as Primary care lead or Provides daily care can also edit the menu.

How to do it

  1. Tap Daily menu.
  2. In each period, type a food item and tap Add food. Repeat for the other food items.
  3. Tap Save. The menu applies today and on the following days, until it is changed again.
  4. At each meal, tap the food items the person ate.
  5. If they ate nothing, tap Did not eat. To undo it, tap Undo entry.

Good to know

  • To take a meal off the menu, remove its food items: the period then shows No meal planned instead of Awaiting entry.
  • Changing the menu does not alter earlier days. With View previous day, you can see the days that have passed. Yesterday can still be marked; the days before it are view only.
  • The person being cared for, with their own access to Ampare, sees the current and next periods in the Today tab and marks what they ate. They can only mark today and cannot change the menu.
  • Without internet, what you mark is saved on the phone and sent when the connection comes back. The menu can only be saved with internet.
  • Meals have no reminders, do not count calories or nutrients and do not go into the health record. The Feeding routine, including tube feeding, stays on the schedule as before.

History, measurements and documents

Everything that is confirmed becomes the history of the person being cared for, ready to take to the doctor.

Health record

Brings together the confirmed records: doses, measurements, appointments and what was confirmed from the chat.

Where to find it
Cared ones › Health record

Good to know

  • On Free, it shows the last 30 days. On Essential, the full history.

Summary for the doctor

Essential plan

Choose the period, then save it as a PDF, share it or print it. Only confirmed records are included.

Where to find it
Cared ones › Health record › Prepare for the doctor

Measurements

Tap +, choose what was measured, enter the value and tap Save measurement.

Where to find it
Cared ones › View measurements
Who can
The account holder and anyone who joined as Primary care lead or Provides daily care.

Good to know

  • The values are typed in by the family. Ampare does not measure, interpret or diagnose.

Weight and BMI

Weight is one of the measurements. With the height in the profile of the person being cared for, the weight card shows the BMI (body mass index).

Where to find it
Cared ones › View measurements
Who can
The account holder and anyone who joined as Primary care lead or Provides daily care.

How to do it

  1. Tap the + button.
  2. Choose Weight.
  3. Enter the value in kilograms and tap Save measurement.

Good to know

  • Without a height in the profile, whoever can edit it sees the shortcut Enter height in the profile.
  • The BMI is just a number calculated from weight and height: Ampare does not classify it, color it or send alerts about it.
  • You can also say in the chat that the person weighed 72 kg: Ampare prepares the Log weight card, which is saved only after it is confirmed.

Health status

A summary of how the person being cared for is doing, in a word: Excellent, Good, Fair or Needs attention. It also appears on the phone widget.

Good to know

  • Turn it on with Track this person's health status.
  • It helps you organize care and does not replace a medical evaluation.

Health documents

Essential plan

Keep prescriptions, test results, medical reports, referrals and discharge summaries. Tap Add document and choose Camera, Gallery or File.

Where to find it
Cared ones › Documents

Good to know

  • Images or PDFs.
  • On Free, the list stays visible; uploading new documents is part of Essential.

Caregiver wellbeing

A private space for caregivers to keep track of their own tiredness. The family does not see your answers.

  1. When you take over the care, Ampare asks Keep track of your wellbeing? Tap Yes, keep track. You can also turn it on from the My wellbeing card in Settings.
  2. Answer the daily question about your stress by tapping the level that best fits your day.
  3. On the Need to share the care? card, tap Ask someone to provide care for 2 hours when you need a break.

Important

It is private. The family does not see your answers. When the signs of overload are consistent, they only get a notice that you need help, without the number and without what you wrote.

Wellbeing is for family members who provide care. To turn it off, use Stop tracking my wellbeing.

Location of the person being cared for

The location is only read when someone in the family asks. The person being cared for gets a notice with each request and sees who asked.

  1. In the Cared ones tab, tap "Where is", with the person's name, and then "Ask where" they are.
  2. Their phone answers on its own, and they get a notice saying who asked. If they wish, they can tap I am fine.

Attention

For this to work, the person being cared for needs their own access to Ampare on their phone, with location allowed all the time, and must have given their authorization once. Ampare SOS only sends the location during an emergency.

The account holder, the Primary care lead and the caregiver on duty can ask. Professionals can only ask during their shift.

Access for the person being cared for

The person being cared for can sign in to their own Ampare, with email and password, and use a simpler screen: the day, the chat with the family and SOS. In the Today tab, they can also log the water they drink and mark the day's meals. At medication time, their phone rings as an alarm.

Give access to the person being cared for

The family creates the access with an email and a starting password, and can change them later.

Where to find it
Settings › Family › Access and consents
Who can
Only the account holder.

How to do it

  1. On the family page, tap the name of the person being cared for and then Access and consents.
  2. Under The person's own sign-in, tap Set email and password.
  3. Give the email and the initial password to the person. When they first sign in, they create their own password.

Good to know

  • This access and Ampare SOS are independent: turning one off does not turn off the other.
  • On-demand location works through this access, not through Ampare SOS.
  • The medication alarm also works through this access, not through Ampare SOS.

Medication alarm

At medication time, the phone of the person being cared for rings as an alarm. They answer I took it, Snooze 10 min or I will not take it, and Ampare records the answer.

Where to find it
Settings › Reminders
Who can
Only the person being cared for, through their own access to Ampare. Caregivers do not get the alarm.

How to do it

  1. On the phone of the person being cared for, in Reminders, keep Medicine times and Ring as an alarm on. Both are on from the start.
  2. Android: if Full screen is off appears, tap Open settings and allow full screen for Ampare.
  3. iPhone with iOS 26 or later: under iPhone alarms, tap Allow alarms and confirm. If alarms were declined, tap Open settings and allow them in iPhone Settings.

Good to know

  • I took it records every medication for that time, with the time of the answer. If the profile of the person being cared for has Caregiver confirmation of doses: required, the dose waits for a caregiver to confirm it.
  • I will not take it records the medications for that time as not taken and tells the caregiver on duty right away. If no one is on duty, it tells the Primary care lead, if they are family, or the family members. With two or more refusals in seven days, the family gets an alert.
  • Snooze 10 min makes the alarm ring again, a limited number of times per medication time. With no answer, the reminder repeats and then Ampare tells the caregivers by the same rule, and the alarm stops. Snoozing does not change these times.
  • On Android, the alarm opens in full screen over the lock screen, and the person answers there without unlocking. If the alarm volume is low, Ampare raises it while the alarm rings and then restores it. The screen stays until the answer, until someone records the dose or for a limited time.
  • On an iPhone with iOS 26 or later, the alarm is the iPhone's own, with a Snooze 10 min button. Stopping the alarm opens Ampare with the three answers. On an older iPhone, or without alarms allowed, a notification arrives with the same three buttons.
  • With Ring as an alarm off, a regular notification arrives, also with the three buttons. Only the person themselves turns it on and off, and caregivers keep getting their alerts.
  • On Android, the alarm comes over the internet: without a connection, only the reminder shortly before rings. On iPhone, the upcoming alarms stay on the device and ring even without internet. An answer given without internet is sent when the connection comes back. If too much time has passed since the medication time, Ampare asks for it to be recorded on the medicines screen.
  • The person can also answer in the Today tab, under Now. There, I will not take it asks for confirmation before recording.

Notifications on your phone

Medicine reminders and emergency alerts only arrive if the phone lets Ampare notify you.

  • Allow notifications when Ampare asks. If you declined, turn them on in the phone settings.
  • iPhone: turn on Critical Alerts for Ampare. Without them, when the phone is on silent or in Focus mode, the emergency alert arrives without sound.
  • Android: in an emergency, Ampare raises the alarm volume for a few minutes. Allow full-screen notifications so the screen lights up when the device is locked.
  • Phone of the person being cared for: the medication alarm uses full screen on Android and, on an iPhone with iOS 26 or later, the alarms permission.
  • When a permission is missing, Ampare shows a notice with a button that opens the device settings.

Notifications that apply to the whole family

In Alerts and summaries, on the family page, the account holder turns the chat notifications, routine reminders, family alerts, the caregiver change notice and the weekly summary on and off. These switches apply to everyone.

Attention

Turning off Communication alerts silences chat notifications for the whole family, except urgent alerts.

Without internet

Ampare keeps showing what you have already seen and saves what you record until the connection comes back.

  • Messages, voice messages, doses, cups of water, meals, measurements, tasks, appointments and routines recorded without internet are saved on the phone and sent automatically when the connection comes back.
  • A bar at the top shows when the data was saved and how many uploads are pending.
  • If a record waits too long for a connection, it is not sent: Ampare asks you to record it again.
  • If someone else had already recorded the same thing, their record is the one that counts.

Attention

Do not sign out without internet. Signing out of Ampare erases what is saved on the phone, including pending uploads.

Ampare SOS

It lives on the phone of the person being cared for: a button that alerts the family.

Activate Ampare SOS

Ampare SOS runs on the phone of the person being cared for, with no password and no sign-in. It is activated by the family's account holder with a QR Code shown in Ampare.

In your Ampare: create the code

Choose the person being cared for in the Cared ones tab and open Access button (Ampare SOS).

Where to find it
Cared ones › Access button (Ampare SOS)
Who can
Only the account holder.

How to do it

  1. Check I accept the audio recording during emergencies and tap Continue.
  2. Enter the emergency mobile number of someone you trust who can answer, and tap Save phone number.
  3. Confirm the language Ampare SOS will use to speak to the person and tap Create the activation code.
  4. Keep the QR Code open on the screen until the other phone scans it.

Good to know

  • The code is only valid for a short time and renews itself while the screen stays open.
  • Not with the person? Use Copy the link and send it in a message: the link is only valid for a short time and works only once.
  • When their phone scans the code, Ampare SOS connected appears.

On the phone of the person being cared for: activate

Install Ampare SOS from the App Store or Google Play and open the app.

How to do it

  1. Tap Scan the QR Code and point the camera at the code on your phone. If you have the link, tap Paste the link.
  2. When Activation code recognised appears, tap Turn on.
  3. The first time it opens, Ampare SOS runs a test and asks for access to the microphone, location and notifications. On iPhone, it also asks to send critical alerts. Allow them all.
  4. On Android, also allow Place the call during an emergency: if no one in the family responds, the phone calls the caregiver without anyone touching the screen.

Good to know

  • If it says the code has expired, create a new one in Ampare and scan it right away.
  • If it says the code belongs to the family app, it came from Patient access. The right code comes from Access button (Ampare SOS).

Note

Test, at the bottom of the Ampare SOS screen, sends the family a notice that the button is working, with no alarm and without calling for help. You can test once a day.

Ask for help and cancel

The Ampare SOS screen has one large button. One tap asks for help. The same screen has a shortcut to call whoever is caring for the person and, at the bottom, one for the emergency number.

Emergency

Ampare SOS alerts the family. It does not replace emergency medical services or public emergency lines. If someone is in danger, call the emergency number.

  1. One tap on the button opens a short countdown, with a beep and vibration. Tapped it by mistake? Tap Cancel: nothing leaves the phone before zero.
  2. At zero, the whole family is alerted at the same time, in the family chat in Ampare and by notification. The alert repeats for anyone who has not opened it yet.
  3. The phone records the ambient sound during the first minutes and sends its location for as long as the emergency lasts.
  4. If no one responds quickly, Ampare SOS calls the family, one person at a time, starting with whoever is caring for the person right now.
  5. The screen says out loud who has seen the request and who is on the way.

How the emergency ends

The person being cared for ends it by holding the button. In the family, it can be ended by the account holder, the Primary care lead, the caregiver on duty and whoever has arrived on site. If no one ends it, the emergency ends on its own, and the Ampare SOS screen shows how much time is left.

Without internet, the large button leaves the screen. What remains is a button to call the caregiver directly and the shortcut to the emergency number. If the internet drops in the middle of a request, the phone keeps recording and sends the request once the connection is back.

You can also add Ampare SOS as a widget on the phone's home screen and, on iPhone, on the lock screen. Tapping the widget opens the same countdown, with the same Cancel.

What the family sees and does

The alert reaches everyone in the family in Ampare. The emergency screen brings together the map, the ambient sound and the buttons to let others know you are on your way.

Respond to a request for help

Tap the notification. The Emergency in progress screen opens and the family sees that you are following the emergency.

Where to find it
Notification › Emergency in progress

How to do it

  1. In Emergency audio, tap Listen. After the first minutes, tapping it again opens the microphone on their phone for a little longer.
  2. See on the map where they are and use I am on my way. When you arrive, tap I am here.
  3. On Essential, Hold to reply records a voice message that plays on its own on their phone.
  4. When everything is resolved, tap End emergency and confirm.

Good to know

  • Unable to go? Tap I cannot respond: the family is informed, and Ampare SOS calls you last.
  • Ending the emergency is up to the account holder, the Primary care lead, the caregiver on duty and whoever has arrived on site.

Keeping the button working well

A few simple precautions make sure the request for help gets through when it is needed.

  • Keep the phone charged, with sound on and connected to the internet.
  • Do not close Ampare SOS from the list of open apps. If it stays closed for a long time, the family may get a notice asking for it to be opened.
  • Keep the permissions turned on. If one is missing, Test says so and takes you to the phone settings.
  • New phone? Create a new code in Ampare and activate the new phone.
  • To turn the button off, the account holder uses Disconnect Ampare SOS, in the same place where it was activated.

Note

The watch as an emergency button is still in development. See the planned models on the Ampare SOS page.

Important

Records entered by hand, such as a dose checked off or an appointment added, have no limit on any plan.

What it costs

Essential prices, monthly and yearly, are under Pricing.

Subscribing, cancelling and the end of Essential

The account holder subscribes in the app, and the phone's app store handles the billing. The subscription renews automatically until it is cancelled.

Subscribe to Essential

Tap See the plans, choose monthly or yearly and confirm the payment in the store: App Store on iPhone, Google Play on Android.

Where to find it
Settings › Plan and subscription
Who can
Only the account holder.

Good to know

  • Did you change phones or reinstall the app? Tap Restore purchases to recover the subscription without paying again.
  • Anyone who is not the account holder sees that the family's plan belongs to the account holder.

Cancel the subscription

You cancel in the store where you subscribed. Manage subscription opens the right page in the App Store or Google Play.

Where to find it
Settings › Plan and subscription › Manage subscription
Who can
Only the account holder.

Good to know

  • Essential stays active until the end of the period already paid.
  • Cancelling does not delete anything.

When Essential ends

Essential features stop, and nothing is deleted. If the family has gone over the Free plan limits, the account holder chooses who stays; whoever leaves is deactivated, not deleted, and comes back when the subscription does.

Your account and your data

  • One phone at a time. The account stays open on a single device: signing in on another phone ends the session on the previous one.
  • New password: on the sign-in screen, tap I forgot my password and follow the link sent by email, which is only valid for a short time. An account created with Google, Apple or Outlook has no password: sign in with the same button.
  • Your data: in Settings › Privacy and data, you can export your data, review your consent for AI and delete the account.
  • Leaving a family: use Leave this family on the family's page. The account holder must first transfer ownership to someone else.

Deleting the account

With Delete my account, the account is closed right away and the data is erased within 30 days. You can also request it on the website, at Delete account.

Attention

Deleting the account does not cancel the subscription in the store. Cancel it first in the App Store or Google Play.
